Gambling Ship's Run Of Bad Luck - 2004-01-13
First, a group of 90 gamblers came ashore after a Saturday cruise on the casino boat with tales of terrible food, a long, cold ride and - arrgh, matey - having to accept checks instead of cash for their winnings.

Now a group of 140 Long Island firefighters is telling their own story of hell on the high seas, claiming their cruise aboard the cursed casino boat made them sick. Literally.

The firefighters, who set sail aboard the Lady Luck from Captree State Park on Jan. 3, mutinied when the captain refused to go back to port after dozens complained of nausea, officials said.

Vegas Casino Shuts Down After Federal Agents Seize Cash - 2004-01-13
Lady luck is not standing by a Las Vegas landmark.

Binion's Horseshoe hotel-casino asked guests to leave Saturday, a day after federal agents closed the casino floor and seized money to pay for owing employee benefits.

The front doors were locked and yellow police tape greeted visitors to the Las Vegas fixture for 52 years -- and home to the wildly popular World Series of Poker.
