US to host Bollywood Awards in May - 2004-01-13
The sixth annual Bollywood Awards will take place on 1 May 2004 at the Mark G Etess Arena in the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort in New Jersey. Quite a few actors from the Indian film industry and several mainstream American stars will perform and be present at the awards ceremony, states an official release.

Bollywood Awards Inc CEO Kamal Dandona says including Hollywood stars at the awards are a great way for non-resident Indians (NRIs) to feel connected between their present environment and their roots.

State trooper from Chesterton fired for alcohol trouble - 2004-01-13
An Indiana State Police detective assigned to the Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City was fired after having been arrested earlier this month for an alcohol-related charge.

The detective was already serving a suspension for driving a police car while under the influence of alcoholic beverages in December.

Ernest J. Primerano Jr., 43, of Chesterton was fired last week by State Police Superintendent Melvin J. Caraway.

The action wasn’t announced publicly until Monday, after Primerano was notified of the decision, 1st Sgt. David Bursten said.
