LA. TRIBE TAKES CAMPO INDIAN BAND TO COURT OVER CASINO FUNDS - 2004-01-15
A Louisiana tribe is taking legal action against the Campo Indian band in San Diego Superior Court over unpaid money tied to the building of the Golden Acorn Casino, it was reported Wednesday.

The suit filed by First Nation Gaming, a business arm of Louisana's Tunica-Biloxi tribe, contends Campo has repaid not even $1 million of the $25 million it cost to build the Golden Acorn, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

First Nation funded construction of the Golden Acorn, which opened in August 2001 on the Campo reservation 60 miles east of San Diego.

New Gaming Push - 2004-01-15
A coalition of groups initiated three petition drives Wednesday aimed at allowing casino and video gambling in Nebraska.

The group, named Keep the Money in Nebraska, filed the proposed petitions with the Secretary of State's office.

The coalition is made of the business people, local communities, the horse racing industry and casino and keno parlor operators.
