Adelaide casino's owner looks to Darwin - 2004-01-16
Sky City Entertainment is negotiating with Las Vegas-based MGM Mirage to purchase its Darwin casino.

Sky City, which owns Adelaide's casino, said it was "undertaking due diligence of the Darwin business and is in the process of negotiating terms of a potential acquisition".

The New Zealand company did not expand further on the issue, but investors reacted negatively. Its shares fell 1.8 per cent on the NZ Stock Exchange, before settling 0.4 per cent down at NZ$4.54.

The state college board is asking universities to diversify their coursework to incorporate one of Mississippi's most lucrative industries: gaming. And Southern Miss says it's already on the ball.

Gaming means a lot of money for Mississippi, and that's why state college board members want universities to implement programs geared towards casino and resort management.
