Transient accused of purse snatching arrested - 2004-01-16
A 35-year-old transient accused of robbing a 67-year-old California woman’s purse at a downtown Reno casino was arrested Thursday.

James Cran was arrested on suspicion of strong-armed robbery and booked into the Washoe County Jail.

Reno police said the woman was at the Cal-Neva Casino playing slot machines about 1:30 p.m. when a man behind her pulled the purse out of her hand.

Two from Arizona file lawsuit over Laughlin biker rally brawl - 2004-01-16
Two Arizona residents have filed a lawsuit accusing Harrah’s Laughlin hotel-casino of failing to warn patrons of “impending peril” before a deadly biker fight in 2002.

Kristi Schoenleber and Alan Hendrickson say they were playing blackjack early April 27, 2002, when Hells Angels and Mongols motorcycle club members started fighting with guns, knives, hammers and wrenches.
