Ho-Chunk starts direct mail pitch for casino - 2004-01-17
The Ho-Chunk Nation has sent off its first direct mail piece to Dane County residents asking for support of a casino at the DeJope bingo hall.

Ho-Chunk's letter says that the profit sharing agreements that would be put into effect if voters approve a Feb. 17 referendum "will help hold down property taxes and provide vitally needed funds for local human service programs, education, police, fire, and emergency medical services."

It also notes that DeJope is the only Indian gaming facility in Wisconsin that doesn't have casino games.

First Philippine Internet Casino Licence Cancelled - 2004-01-17
The Sports & Games Entertainment Corp, which operates www.sagecasino.com and claims to be Asia’s first online casino, has lost its license to operate within the Philippines.

The Philippine Supreme Court annulled the contract which had been given to them by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp., or Pagcor, the state agency that handles casino gaming operations, five years ago. The court ruled Pagcor had 'acted beyond the limits of its authority when it passed on or shared its franchise to SAGE.'
