Ho-Chunk starts direct mail pitch for casino - 2004-01-17
The Ho-Chunk Nation has sent off its first direct mail piece to Dane County residents asking for support of a casino at the DeJope bingo hall.
Ho-Chunk's letter says that the profit sharing agreements that would be put into effect if voters approve a Feb. 17 referendum "will help hold down property taxes and provide vitally needed funds for local human service programs, education, police, fire, and emergency medical services."
It also notes that DeJope is the only Indian gaming facility in Wisconsin that doesn't have casino games.
