Study: Dairyland casino would boost Kenosha economy - 2004-01-21
A proposed casino, hotel and entertainment center at Dairyland Greyhound Park in Kenosha would create 4,700 to 6,000 new jobs in the region and bring in $500 million annually, according to a preliminary economic analysis released Tuesday by developers.
The casino plan at the greyhound racing track was resurrected earlier this month by the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin and Kenesah Gaming Development L.L.C., a Kenosha development company formed for the project. A prior plan by the Menominee tribe to locate an off-reservation casino at the site was abandoned in 2001.
