House Gaming chair says new casino taxes unlikely - 2004-01-21
Rep. Bobby Moak, chairman of the new House Gaming Committee, says he does not anticipate tax increases on casinos in the next four years.
However, in an interview Tuesday, he added: "I'm not going to say 'never.' Nobody knows what will happen tomorrow."
Mississippi has struggled with a tight state budget the past three years, and some people have suggested raising gaming taxes to bring in more revenue.
