Casino Bidder Offers $30 Million For Hotel - 2004-01-23
A group of investors that's seeking a license to operate a casino in Orange County wants to purchase the historic West Baden Springs Hotel.

Tranchant Indiana offered $30 million for the hotel. The group is affiliated with Groupe Tranchant, a French company that runs 20 casinos in France and four in other countries.

The hotel purchase is contingent on Tranchant Indiana receiving the operating permit for the state's eleventh casino.

Dairyland Casino Would Boost Kenosha Economy - 2004-01-23
A proposed casino, hotel and entertainment center at Dairyland Greyhound Park in Kenosha would create 4,700 to 6,000 new jobs in the region and have an annual economic impact of over $500 million.

The casino plan at the greyhound racing track was revived earlier this month by the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin and Kenesah Gaming Development L.L.C., a Kenosha development company formed for the project. A prior plan by the Menominee tribe to locate an off-reservation casino at the site was abandoned in 2001.
