Ban King from A.C. for 5 years, DGE says - 2004-01-23
Boxing promoter Don King has made a mockery of gaming regulations by evading licensure the past six years while billing casinos $6.3 million for fights, says the state agency that now is attempting to get him banned for five years.

The Division of Gaming Enforcement said King's refusal to answer questions about shady business deals while profiting through apply-and-withdraw licensing tactics made him unfit for casino business.

Convicted burglar arrested on suspicion of stealing purse - 2004-01-23
A convicted robber has been arrested on suspicion of stealing a purse containing $45,000 from a woman gambling at the Atlantis Casino Resort in May, police said.

David Howell, 39, was booked Sunday into Washoe County Jail on suspicion of grand larceny, burglary and traffic violations and is being held on $100,000 cash bail.
