Blackjack Card Cheat Gets A Reprieve After 25 Years - 2004-01-23
More than 25 years after he was caught cheating at blackjack, a gambler who had been banned from Atlantic City casinos got lucky Wednesday.
Allen G. Perlman, 56, of Allentown, Pa., was taken off the state's blacklist after convincing regulators that he has lived a law-abiding life since getting caught "past-posting" -- placing bets after cards were dealt -- at Resorts International casino.
The state Casino Control Commission voted 5-0 to strike Perlman's name from the "exclusion list," which was set up to keep mobsters, cheats and other undesirables out of casinos.
