Golden Nugget Buyers Face First License Vote Wednesday - 2004-01-05
The Golden Nugget will probably change hands in about three weeks, as Nevada gaming regulators are scheduled to consider the prospective buyers' license applications at meetings in Las Vegas on Wednesday and Jan. 22.

Poster Financial Group's $215 million deal to buy the Golden Nugget -- downtown's most profitable casino, by far -- and the Golden Nugget Laughlin from present owner MGM Mirage is dependent on the buyers receiving state regulators' OK.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board is supposed to consider the Golden Nugget buyers' license applications Wednesday.

Robbery Suspect on the Run - 2004-01-05
Vinton Police and Calcasieu Sheriff's Deputies this evening are still looking for the fourth suspect in that early morning armed robbery of Vinton Casino.

It occurred moments after 2:00 a.m. at the Lucky Delta just off I-10 in Vinton.

Four armed men walked into the casino, demanded money and fled the scene.

After they left, they got into a car chase with police and fired several shots.
