Gov. Pawlenty announces new four-plex cinema for Hackensack during visit to MnUSA Winter Rendezvous - 2004-02-13
The announcement that a four screen cinema complex will soon be constructed in Hackensack
was an unanticipated highlight of Gov. Tim Pawlenty's visit to the Minnesota United Snowmobile
Association (MnUSA) Winter Rendezvous.

Hundreds of MnUSA members and their sleds converged on Northern Lights Casino and Hotel near Walker Feb. 5-8 for the group's 2004 yearly convention.

Saturday morning, Pawlenty and an entourage of more than 100 snowmobilers and security personnel stopped at the Hackensack Community Center.

Committee supports nominees to Casino - 2004-02-13
The Senate Rules Committee on Thursday approved the nomination of Devin Carrington to the V.I. Casino Control Commission and Cheryl Boynes-Jackson to the V.I. Water and Power Authority governing board.

Both nominations will go to the full Senate with a favorable recommendation from the committee.

Carrington is legal counsel for the Health Department. If his nomination is approved by the full Senate, he will work full time for the Casino Control Commission. He served as part-time counsel for the commission since 2001.
