Trump looks to sell stake in its resorts - 2004-02-13
Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts said yesterday it was in talks to sell a $400 million majority stake to a subsidiary of Credit Suisse First Boston.

Donald Trump said the deal would lead to a lot of new investment in his three Atlantic City casinos - Trump Plaza, Trump Marina and Trump Taj Mahal. However, some analysts questioned whether the company's debt-holders would sign off on such a deal.

"Longer term, this would allow the company to invest more in its properties," Marc Falcone, an analyst at Deutsche Bank Securities, said of the plan. "It may not be a very good announcement for current bond holders."

Park or no, we won't forget Hemmeter - 2004-02-13
A few years ago Christopher Hemmeter must have imagined a more significant memorial in New Orleans than a tiny park bearing his name.

Such a trivial honor would have seemed unnecessary, because the Grand Palais casino was supposed to be Hemmeter's ticket to immortality in these parts. It would have done for him - the comparison would not have seemed overblown to Hemmeter - what St. Paul's Cathedral did for that other Christopher.

"Si Monumentum Requiris, Circumspice" says Wren's plaque. Same was supposed to go for Hemmeter. If you seek a memorial to the great man, take a gander at this building. Nothing else is needed.
