CASINO LOCATION CONFLICT - 2004-02-14
A massive gambling bill will soon reach the house floor, and gambling supporters in Black Hawk County hope they'll be on the winning boat. The problem, the county already has two different plans and sites for a casino, and possibly a third proposal in the wings. Waterloo is a sure bet for a casino, but this lack of unity could create more problems than supporters ever imagined. Cattle Congress leaders could be getting closer to jumping into the location battle as well. There's nothing specific yet, but we can't rule them out.

Lemay wants the features promised in casino deal - 2004-02-14
Talks to build a new $300 million casino complex in St. Louis County are only a few days old, and already some are concerned the development won't have all the attractions they're anticipating.

Las Vegas-based Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. tried to reassure those in the St. Louis suburb of Lemay that they'll follow through with their promises.

The plan, still being negotiated and subject to government and regulatory approval, includes a shopping mall, movie theater, bowling alley and restaurants, in addition to the casino.
