Missing for months, he's home safe - 2004-02-14
What started as a pleasant trip to play the slots at an Atlantic City casino last summer turned into eight months of torment for Margaret Leggett.

After arriving in the city a little after noon, the Newark woman was waiting on line at the Claridge to redeem her bus trip coupon for $10 in quarters.

With her was her 56-year-old husband, Joseph, who suffers from a pre-Alzheimer's form of dementia and often forgets who or where he is.

While Margaret Leggett was getting the quarters from the cashier, her husband wandered off.

Sagging New Orleans riverboat tries to boost fortunes - 2004-02-14
Bally's riverboat casino, ranked at the bottom of the New Orleans casino market, is trying to use a new marketing campaign in hopes of reviving its flagging fortunes.

Starting Feb. 20, the casino will "loosen" its slot machines to return a higher percentage of gambled money and will advertise itself more widely in hopes
of cutting into its rivals' business, say executives with the casino's owner Caesars Entertainment Inc.

Bally's typically ranks far behind Harrah's New Orleans Casino, the Treasure Chest in Kenner and the Boomtown Casino in Harvey in money won from gamblers, according to state reports.
