If you are a resident of Dane County, you probably received a mailing in the past week that very much resembles last Sunday's Wisconsin State Journal editorial urging a "yes" vote on the upcoming casino referendum.

The mailing suggests that you should read our editorial before you vote. We hope you did - the full version that appeared in our newspaper. <

Election candidates often use snippets from our endorsements. But the Coalition for the Fair Indian Gaming and Revenue Sharing Agreements crossed a line by appropriating the newspaper's logo, creating the mistaken impression that this mailing came directly from the newspaper, or with our publisher's permission.

Trump's Next Move: From 'Apprentice' to Global Master - 2004-02-14
Donald Trump claims his private real estate development company is the biggest in Manhattan. His reality television show, "The Apprentice," has blockbuster ratings nationwide. Now Mr. Trump appears to have even bolder plans for his public company, Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts - even though it is burdened with $1.8 billion in debt. Mr. Trump says the company will go global as soon as it completes a major refinancing effort that was announced on Thursday.

The refinancing plans are very preliminary, but they include a $400 million equity investment from Credit Suisse First Boston, which will replace Mr. Trump as the company's majority shareholder.
