Native American woman shot to death at Rincon reservation home - 2004-02-15
A 22-year-old Native American woman was shot to death and her housemate was wounded today inside their mobile home by Harrah's Casino on the Rincon Indian Reservation, authorities said.

Marlene Magee, who lived on land owned by the Rincon San Luiseno Band of Mission Indians, died instantly from a gunshot wound to the head, medical examiner Investigator Jerry Simmons said.

Deputies were notified of the shooting at 2:48 a.m. by firefighters from the California Department of Forestry station, which sits just outside the reservation at Valley Center Road and State Route 76 in Pauma Valley, CDF Capt. Brian Beresford said.
