Dane County See Millions If Voters Pass Casino Referendum - 2004-02-16
After a turbulent and expensive campaign that has divided residents, voters go to the polls Tuesday to decide whether they want a Ho-Chunk bingo hall converted into a high-stakes casino offering craps and blackjack. Peebles ruled the agency's recognition of the elected chiefs as the tribal authority was not the result of a "considered analysis of the leadership dispute, but instead resulted from a misconception" from a lower court order.
