Rincon Band woman shot near casino - 2004-02-17
A woman from a Southern California Indian reservation was shot to death near a casino this weekend, and her boyfriend is suspected in the slaying. Police say Marlene Magee, 22, was driven by her boyfriend to the California Department of Forestry Rincon Fire Station just before 3AM Sunday
morning. She had been shot in the head, and the boyfriend, whose name has not yet been disclosed, had a wound on his arm that may have been a gunshot. The exact nature of his injury has not yet been determined.

Firefighters immediately summoned authorities. Magee died at the fire station and the man was taken to a nearby hospital. His injuries are not considered to be life threatening.

Locations Of Casinos Up For Vote - 2004-02-17
The City Commission will vote Tuesday on whether to extend temporary rules on where casinos can be placed in Great Falls. But it's a pretty safe bet you won't find a new casino in your neighborhood in the near future, unless someone sells an existing liquor license to be used in a new location.

A business needs a state liquor license to get a gambling license, and no more liquor licenses are available in Great Falls. Under the rules enacted last summer, casinos can be opened only downtown and in general commercial or industrial zones.
