Rincon Band woman shot near casino - 2004-02-17
A woman from a Southern California Indian reservation was shot to death near a casino this weekend, and her boyfriend is suspected in the slaying. Police say Marlene Magee, 22, was driven by her boyfriend to the California Department of Forestry Rincon Fire Station just before 3AM Sunday
morning. She had been shot in the head, and the boyfriend, whose name has not yet been disclosed, had a wound on his arm that may have been a gunshot. The exact nature of his injury has not yet been determined.
Firefighters immediately summoned authorities. Magee died at the fire station and the man was taken to a nearby hospital. His injuries are not considered to be life threatening.
