Casino foes, supporters debate issues - 2004-02-17
The two sides of the Hesperia casino issue got the opportunity to state their case Monday in front of business leaders as the pro-casino side touted more jobs and economic opportunities for the city, while opponents stressed possible drawbacks the project might bring.

Rod Wilson, spokesman for the Timbisha Shoshone Tribe of Death Valley, and Vivian Houser, coordinator for Concerned Citizens Against the Casino, each got 10 minutes to present their views to about 80 business leaders and city officials who attended the Hesperia Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon.

Installation will begin by early May 2004. Pending the outcome of the trial, VendingData(TM) has guaranteed the purchase price of $4,495, a $500 reduction from the list price, over the next 6 months for any additional PokerOne(TM) shufflers sold to STDM casino network.
