Bracks Rules Out Rise In State Poker Machines - 2004-02-17
Premier Steve Bracks ruled out an increase in the number of poker machines in Victoria. He stated the
Government's review of Victoria's electronic gaming
and betting industry would not consider increasing machine numbers over the present cap of 30,000.
"Our policy is not to increase the cap... we're not going to increase the numbers," Mr. Bracks said.
He would not comment on whether the Government might consider cutting poker machine numbers but said the issue could be raised in the review process.
