Local Lawyer, Basketball Coach Campaigns Against Casino - 2004-02-17
Casino opposers and volunteer basketball coach David Relles has made a low-budget, grassroots attempt to stop a casino from being opened in the county.

"I'm a citizen," he explained. "I am unpaid; I don't receive any bonus if this proposition succeeds or fails. I'm putting time into this because I care about the community and I have no ax to grind over this." He's a private trial attorney, husband and father of two who does have some personal perspective on the casino debate.

As a lawyer, he's seen gambling trigger embezzlement and hurt families.

As a person, he's seen gambling claim his friend, who killed himself because he lost his family's money.
