Gaming chief backs Natchez site - 2004-02-18
The executive director of the Mississippi Gaming Commission says he will push for approval of site and development proposals for a second casino in Natchez.

At its monthly meeting today in Jackson, the commission will hear from Charles Cato of St. Petersburg, Fla., the developer of the $53 million Emerald Star Casino and Resort to be located south of the Mississippi River bridge in Natchez.

Harrah's NKC lays off 21 slot workers - 2004-02-18
Harrah's North Kansas City Casino fired 21 slot department workers, or approximately 10 percent of the department's work force, a company official said Wednesday.

The casino now has about 160 employees in the slot department and more than 1,500 overall, said Ted Bogich, senior vice president and general manager.
