City tells casino to close rubble dump - 2004-02-18
Harrah's Council Bluffs Casino & Hotel has until April
1 to come up with a proposal for improvements at a rubble dump on land it owns by Ameristar Casino.

It also has to come up with a plan for permanent closure of the facility.

The dump is located on 42 acres west of Interstate 29 at the Nebraska Avenue Exit.

Construction debris, such as concrete, asphalt, brick and dirt, are disposed of at the rubble dump. The purpose is to provide a means, other than dirt, for filling land so that the land can eventually be developed.
