time being.

The only thing remaining is the post-mortem, and that will most likely come in the next week or so when PricewaterhouseCoopers releases a study on the impact casinos would have on Kentucky, both socially and financially.

When that's done, Gov. Paul Patton can bury this issue once and for all and move on to more important things on his agenda, like getting lawmakers to go along with an increase in the state gas tax.

Backers Of Tribe Reveal More Of Casino-Site Search - 2004-02-19
A small Worcester area tribe who hopes to become a gambling powerhouse is keeping its options wide open when it comes to a casino site, eyeing land in a few New England states, documents show. The Webster-based Nipmuc group has for years eyed locations on either side of the Massachusetts/ Connecticut border, including land in Sturbridge, which straddles the line.

But the report by the Minnesota-based Lakes Gaming Inc., quietly released a few months ago as part of an overview of its nationwide casino empire, makes it clear the Nipmucs are casting a much wider net in pursuing a gambling palace.
