Nearby Tribe Opposes New Yuba, Calif., Indian-Owned Casino - 2004-02-19
The tribe that operates Colusa Casino says it is against the Enterprise Rancheria hotel-casino in Yuba County.

The Executive Committee of the Cachil Dehe Band of Wintun Indians of the Colusa Indian Community has approved a resolution against the Butte County tribe's request to the federal government to take 40 acres into trust in Yuba County. The property is situated along 40 Mile Road off Highway 65 south of Marysville.

"The Enterprise Rancheria proposes to leapfrog over (us) and acquire land in Yuba County outside of its traditional territory for the purpose of establishing a gaming facility far removed from its original lands," the resolution said.

Casino-Racetrack Deal Is Near for New Jersey Meadowlands - 2004-02-19
An agreement to transfer millions of dollars from Atlantic City casinos to the Meadowlands Racetrack and Monmouth Park is almost completed, officials said Wednesday.

The New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority would accept the money from Atlantic City casinos and in turn defer discussions about installing video lottery terminals, which are similar to slot machines, at the racetracks.
