Nearby Tribe Opposes New Yuba, Calif., Indian-Owned Casino - 2004-02-19
The tribe that operates Colusa Casino says it is against the Enterprise Rancheria hotel-casino in Yuba County.
The Executive Committee of the Cachil Dehe Band of Wintun Indians of the Colusa Indian Community has approved a resolution against the Butte County tribe's request to the federal government to take 40 acres into trust in Yuba County. The property is situated along 40 Mile Road off Highway 65 south of Marysville.
"The Enterprise Rancheria proposes to leapfrog over (us) and acquire land in Yuba County outside of its traditional territory for the purpose of establishing a gaming facility far removed from its original lands," the resolution said.
