Casino May Be Fined for Nelly's Treatment - 2004-02-19
A Missouri casino may have to pay a $50,000 fine for supposedly having given the rapper Nelly special treatment.

State regulators claim the President Casino on the Admiral let Nelly skirt rules intended to limit the amount of money patrons can bet. The Missouri Gaming Commission proposed the fine Thursday.

The commission alleges the casino violated some 10 state laws and rules while accommodating Nelly, who in the documents is referred to only as the "Patron."

Tabcorp upbeat on casino wins - 2004-02-19
Large profits from its casinos, newfound synergies from its Jupiters purchase and the declining effect of smoking bans in Victoria has Tabcorp Holdings tipping a 20 to 25 per cent boost in net profit for fiscal 2004, the company said yesterday.

Shares in the Victorian-based gambling giant soared 46¢ to $11.97 - their highest point in more than a year - after it delivered an 18 per cent rise in net profit to $155.4 million for the half year to December 31.
