Senator Says Casino Bus Is No Deal For Taxpayers - 2004-02-20
A state lawmaker said it is time the put the brakes on a bus that takes casino employees to work.

Sen. Edith Prague said the program costs taxpayers
approximately $45,000 every month.

The bus carries workers from Hartford and New Britain to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casinos. The program started as a state funded grant, allowing people on welfare to work at better-paying jobs.

2 men rob casino of cash, security tapes - 2004-02-20
Two men holding guns and wearing all-black outfits and ski masks robbed a Shoreline card room early yesterday, running away with two large garbage bags filled with money and security videotapes, police said.

The men entered the Golden Nugget Casino/Shoreline, on the corner of North 145th Street and Aurora Avenue North, about 4:20 a.m., according to the King County Sheriff's Office. The first suspect entered with a shotgun, the second with a chrome-plated revolver.
