Donald Trump endorsed for Nevada casino venture - 2004-02-20
Developer Donald Trump received approval by state regulators to have a stake in the Riviera hotel-casino — but claimed the Las Vegas Strip resort is a foot-in-the-door licensing opportunity and doesn't figure in his future Nevada plans.

Following the state Gaming Commission's unanimous vote, Trump also said his plans don't include further Indian gambling ventures in California — for now. He said he wants to build a high-end condominium tower in Las Vegas, which may or may not have gambling, and is thinking about other possible deals in both southern and northern Nevada.

Potential buyers weigh Castaways' potential - 2004-02-20
Three weeks following its closing, the Castaways is attracting interest from potential buyers, including a trio of small casino owners who've toured the property and are interested in buying and reopening
the 49-year-old hotel-casino.

Randy Miller, Rich Iannone and Rich Gonzales, the proprietors of the Bighorn casino in North Las Vegas and of the Longhorn casino on Boulder Highway, have toured the property and are deciding whether to buy and reopen it as a casino, Gonzales said.
