Tribe to vote on recall of council - 2004-02-21
A California Indian tribe is mired in political turmoil and internal dissent over its leaders' efforts to open a Las Vegas-style casino in the East Bay.

Members of the Scotts Valley Band of Pomo Indians will vote next week on whether to remove most of their governing council. Tribal officials say the impending vote violates the tribe's constitution because the dissatisfied group failed to follow appropriate recall procedures.

Job fair at tribe hotel - 2004-02-21
The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood will have a job fair from Thursday through Feb. 28 for the purpose of filling at least 3,000 positions. The complex is expected to open in April.

Recruiters are seeking experienced hospitality and casino personnel to work in the $200 million casino and hotel complex.

Job fair hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday; 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Feb. 27; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m Feb. 28. The fair will be held at 3101 N. State Road 7, Hollywood.
