Developer bringing second casino to Natchez - 2004-02-21
Casino developer Charles Cato this week purchased
21 acres of Mississippi riverfront land on which he plans to place the Emerald Star Casino.

The deal comes less than one week after the Florida-based developer received approval of the site and of development plans from the Mississippi Gaming Commission.

Cato purchased the land from Utah-based Landmark International. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Meskwaki Tribe To Double Tama, Iowa, Casino Size - 2004-02-21
Unintimidated by proposals that could increase competition for the Meskwaki Bingo-Casino-Hotel, Meskwaki leaders announced a $100 million plan to at least double the size of their gambling and entertainment complex just west of here and generate 400 jobs.

"We are creating the largest full-service destination resort in the state of Iowa," Tribal Council Chairman Homer Bear Jr. said.
