In the co-feature from Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn., three-time world champion and current WBO Super Flyweight Champion Mark “Too Sharp’’ Johnson defends against unbeaten WBO No. 1 115-pound contender and mandatory challenger Luis Bolano. The Johnson-Bolano 12-rounder replaces the scheduled 12-round bout between undefeated Jeff Lacy and Tito Mendoza that was cancelled after Lacy sustained an injury.

Gambling debate set to begin Thursday - 2004-02-22
A long-awaited debate on the state’s gambling laws is scheduled to commence Thursday in the Iowa House, but not many are willing to predict how it could end.

Communities pinning economic development hopes on bringing in a riverboat casino are waging an 11th-hour lobbying effort to persuade lawmakers to approve new licenses.

And opponents who think legalized gambling creates social ills such as bankruptcy and divorce are hoping legislators put the brakes on gambling expansion before any of the five counties that have passed gambling referendums can bring in a casino.
