Casino deal hinges on mining OK - 2004-02-22
The $92 million relocation of Jumer’s Casino Rock Island seems to be going smoothly on at least one front: the city’s role in helping fund the move.
A 24-page development contract between Rock Island Boatworks and the City of Rock Island details the financial incentives that have been negotiated between city officials and the owner of the Illinois Quad-City gambling establishment.
And the city manager and city planner say, so far, that the City Council appears “favorable” to the agreement.
