Mountain resorts lose casino gamble - 2004-02-24
The idea to give casino licenses to resorts in the Swiss Alps was not successful.

Swissinfo found during a tour of mountain casinos that only one of the five - Crans Montana - appears to have been dealt the right cards.

A few players place their bets on a roulette table in Crans Montana’s casino.

A couple more try their luck at blackjack, and only a handful of the 120 slot machines are occupied.

Dooley supports a casino in Lemay - 2004-02-24
St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley said Monday that he backed the Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. casino planned for Lemay.

"I can see myself supporting Lemay," Dooley said in an interview. "It gives life to an area that has been underdeveloped."

In addition, because it would be built on county-owned land, the county would collect rent and gambling taxes. The proceeds "will be good for everyone in the county," Dooley said.
