New Jersey racing leaders still interested in slots despite casino deal - 2004-02-24
Despite an agreement that would have the Atlantic City casino industry giving a $20-million subsidy to the racing industry yearly for the next four years, horse racing proponents are pushing for a 2006 vote on a constitutional amendment to allow racetrack slot machines when the casino subsidy deal expires.

The New Jersey Senate Wagering, Tourism, and Historic Preservation Committee debated the expanded gaming issue on Monday and heard testimony from casino and racetrack representatives.

Church property attracts tribal casino and boat retailer - 2004-02-24
Florida's biggest casino operator and one of the world's top recreational boat builders have shown an interest in bidding in the bankruptcy auction for the prominent Living Water Church property on Interstate 4.

The Seminole Tribe of Florida, with huge revenues pouring into its new Hard Rock Casino less than a mile from the 16-acre church property, is interested in acquiring more land for overflow parking.

And the MarineMax boat retailer, with 60 locations in 15 states, could profit from the church property's I-4 frontage, as well as the lake on the northern edge of the Living Water tract.
