Bureau of Indian Affairs continues with plans despite a tribe's lack of interest.

Some questionable moves by the Bureau of Indian Affairs may bring yet another casino to a tribe's reservation — even though members of the tribe themselves are not interested in the plan.

California's Ione Band of Miwok Indians is pushing forward with a plan to build a $100 million casino, even though the 70 traditional tribe members don't want it. How could that happen? Hundreds of people have been added to the tribe's membership rolls by regional Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) officials.

Casino Body - 2004-02-24
Autopsy results show a woman whose body washed up behind the Treasure Chest Casino in Kenner died from a close-range gunshot injury to the head.

Forensic investigator MA Goldman of the Jefferson Parish coroner's office says he's not yet certain whether the incident is a killing or a suicide. No gun was found.

Authorities have not identified the body but are checking to determine if it's that of a woman reported missing from Harahan.

Kenner police spokesman Captain Steve Caraway says the missing woman left behind a suicide note, citing health problems.
