Mayor cautions of casino disagreement - 2004-02-26
Country Club Hills Mayor Dwight Welch has a message from the south suburbs for Illinois authorities.
"We're mad as hell and we're not going to take it anymore," Welch commented Thursday, a day after the state Gaming Board chose three north suburbs over Welch's city as finalists for Illinois' 10th casino license.
On Wednesday, the Gaming Board narrowed its list of casino bids for its final license to Waukegan, Rosemont and Des Plaines. Board members and staff refused to comment on the ruling.
