Meskwaki tribe suggests $150 million casino and hotel development - 2004-02-26
The Meskwaki tribe reveals plans Wednesday to spend over $150 million to expand its hotel and casino close to Tama.
The Meskwaki, officially known as the Sac & Fox Tribe of the Mississippi in Iowa, launched its casino and 200-room hotel in 1995 on a 7,000-acre settlement. Since then, the casino has evolved into a business that hires roughly 1,300 people with an annual payroll of $35 million.
