House: No Additional Casinos For Iowa - 2004-02-27
The House dashed the dreams of five counties wanting to include riverboats with passage of a measure Thursday night that mandates no new gambling licenses in the state. (See list of casinos in Iowa.)

The bill freezes the total of gambling licenses at the current level, a motion that upset those in regions of the state that have passed votes for riverboat casinos.
