Detroit City Council clears path for establishing casinos - 2004-02-27
The Detroit City Council voted Friday to extract its objection to a federal lawsuit agreement between the MotorCity and Greektown casinos and the Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians tribe.
The vote removes another hurdle in the building ction of permanent casinos, and follows a public chiding that Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick gave the council Tuesday in his State of the City address.
