Hollywood, Fla., Hotel-Casino Job Fair Lures Tons Of Candidates - 2004-02-27
By 8 a.m., the first job applicants were lining up for the opening of a three-day job fair at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for an opportunity at one of 3,000 new jobs -- from hotel housekeeper to leading manager -- paying from $17,680 to $55,000 plus benefits.
By 2 p.m., it was over a four-hour wait in the hot sun as hundreds of people stood in a line spiraling outside a giant white tent in Hollywood, a mile south of Stirling Road and State Road 7 where the Seminole Tribe of Florida's $200 million casino and hotel complex is prepared to debut in 60 days.

Vote could assist or endanger casino development - 2004-02-27
The ruling by the U.S. secretary of the interior to permit a tribal casino in the city may rely on how locals vote Tuesday on a municipal services agreement.
Without the city's endorsement, Interior Secretary Gale Norton may not authorize taking proposed casino property into federal trust, project advocates and foes stated.
