California tribal casinos have undefined destiny - 2004-02-04
The evolution of California's tribal casinos seems uncertain thanks to a new governor and a handful of initiatives that could create major changes in the years ahead, a panel of industry experts said Wednesday.

Two other measures would maintain exclusivity rights for tribes, with one permitting the expansion of table games such as roulette and craps and the other imposing a 3,000 per-tribe cap on slot machines.

The growth of California's tribal casinos rests uncertain given a new governor and a number of initiatives that could introduce significant changes in the coming years, a panel of trade experts revealed Wednesday.

Two other initiatives would keep exclusivity rights for tribes, with one authorizing the expansion of table games like roulette and craps and the other imposing a 3,000 per-tribe cap on slot machines.
