Dyn-o-mite! - 2004-02-05
Jimmie "J.J." Walker, star of "Good Times" sitcom, will be performing at Argosy Casino's Bonkerz Comedy Club on Feb. 13 and 14.

Walker is most known for his role on "Good Times," a successful sitcom which ended its six-year run in 1979. "Dyn-o-mite!" was the phrase that made Walker famous, prompting Time Magazine to name him Comedian of the Decade.

Born in South Bronx of New York City in 1947, Walker started his career working at various radio stations before landing his first break with an appearance on the "Jack Par Show."

Harrah's to get new name - 2004-02-05

Boyd agreed last month to purchase Harrah's Casino and Hotel for $190 million and hopes to take ownership this spring or summer. Harrah's sold the Shreveport property because it is purchasing Horseshoe Entertainment. Both deals are subject to regulatory approval.
