D'Iberville casino plan OK'd at last - 2004-02-06
Plans for a casino in D'Iberville, after nearly ten years of wrangling with environmental and other concerns, cleared a final governmental hurdle on Thursday, with Secretary of State Eric Clark announcing he and developers had reached a lease agreement on public tidelands the project will occupy.

"I'm pleased to report that we have reached an agreement in principle on a tidelands lease for the D'Iberville casino project," Clark said.

After 7 months of good fortune, Borgata plans a big expansion - 2004-02-06
Just seven months after its splashy debut onto the casino scene, the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa has decided it's time for more.

The casino announced this week it would start official planning on a 500,000-square-foot expansion - a 20 percent increase in the public areas of the massive 2,002-room, four-million-square-foot casino in the city's Marina section.

Bob Boughner, chief executive officer of the fabulously successful hotspot, yesterday said the expansion would accommodate new restaurants and bars, a "significant" increase in retail, additional casino space, and more meeting areas.
