Casino dumps signature jingle - 2004-02-08
The wonder of it all is apparently not so wondrous anymore.

Foxwoods Resort Casino said it will dump the finger-snappin' jazzy jingle that has been the center of its advertising campaign since 1999.

"'The Wonder of it All"' is the kind of ad jingle marketers dream about," said Martin Kramer, director of advertising at Foxwoods. "We've had great success, but you just can't keep doing the same thing the whole time."

While video slots flourish upstate, Yonkers waits - 2004-02-08
As Saratoga Gaming and Raceway continues to attract crowds in the little more than a week since it opened the state's first video slots casino, a similar injection of life into the moribund Yonkers Raceway may still be nearly a year away, track officials say.

Yonkers was one of eight New York state tracks given permission over two years ago to apply for licenses to operate video lottery terminals, as the electronic slots are known. The track, however, cannot begin work on a casino until the state completes an environmental review process only now under way.
