Regional gaming impact to be topic of forum - 2004-02-08
The Casino Career Institute at Atlantic Cape Community College will host a free symposium Feb. 20 to discuss the economic impact of regional gaming on Atlantic City.

Speakers present will be Eric Hausler, gaming analyst for Susquehanna Financial Group; Dave Jonas, senior vice president of Atlantic City operations for Harrah's Entertainment; Howard Kyle, chief of staff for Atlantic County government; Keith Mills, director of the Atlantic City Department of Planning and Development; Richard Perniciaro, associate dean for the college's Center for Regional Business Research; Michael Pollock, publisher of Gaming Industry Observer; and Mac Seelig, president of AC Coin & Slot Service Co.

DIGEST: Major underdog takes stakes race at Sunland - 2004-02-08
Twenty-one-to-one long shot Face The Band won the $54,850 Curribot Handicap through disqualification Saturday at Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino.

Face The Band originally finished second to Fame In A Minute after a furious stretch run on the outside, but was moved up to first place after a stewards' inquiry.

Fame In A Minute soundly bumped Face The Band about 50 yards before the finish, leading to the disqualification.
