Turfway Park President Bob Elliston stated that the phrase "slots at tracks" is an inaccurate and old description of the impending conversion of Turfway Park in Florence, Kentucky, should casino gambling be made legal by the state’s constituents in November.
"Some have suggested that if the racetracks get gambling, all we’ll have is slot machines," Elliston stated. "But that’s an outdated model and an old idea. We envision a facility that will be a tourist destination, the kind of property that screams economic development."
