Forward excused in casino stoush - 2004-03-08
Carlton will not proceed with action against forward Brendan Fevola after an early-morning altercation with security workers at Melbourne's Crown casino.

The club stated Fevola, 23, had gone to the rescue of a family member - reportedly his brother Jason - who became associated with an incident at a casino crowded with grand prix revellers.
The club talked to Fevola and casino authorities today before choosing to take no action against the player.

Action called for on slot machine bid - 2004-03-08
Gov. Ed Rendell hasn't exactly been on the cash when it comes to projecting General Assembly action to make slot machines legal at state racetracks and off-track sites.
Last fall, he stated legislative action on slots should be finalized by Christmas. Then in early January, he stated he hoped for a vote by the end of February.

Once again on Friday, he was insisting that the Legislature must act by the April 27 primary on a measure he's introduced that would approve 12 slots casinos throughout the state.
