Sponsors claim gambling measure won't pass - 2004-03-08
The House sponsor of legislation to introduce casino gambling to Kentucky stated Monday it's unlikely to pass through this session of the General Assembly.
Clark introduced laws that would put to constituents a proposed constitutional amendment that would permit casino gambling. His plan asks for as many as nine casinos within the state.

Casino gambling would be a windfall for the state that could generate over $437 million annually, Clark has stated.

Most recent riverboat proposal revealed - 2004-03-08
The Des Moines River corridor that’s being revitalized is the perfect place for a riverboat casino in Fort Dodge, a gaming executive notified the city council Monday.

The latest plan revealed by Kehl Management Inc., an Iowa-based riverboat operator, calls for placing the floating casino on the river, close to downtown.
‘‘It became quite evident that the people here would like to see the casino project on the riverfront,’’ he stated.
